Indigenuity: Dr Debra Dank On Her New Book 'Ankami' and Fracking In the Beetaloo Basin

Dr Debra Dank is a Gudanji/Wakaja and Kalkadoon woman, NSW Premier Prize-winning author and current Enterprise Fellow at Adelaide Univeristy. Her new book Ankami: Stolen Children, Shattered Families, Silenced Histories is written following extensive research and archival work in the National Archive and Northern Territory Library. Describing this process as "bittersweet", the uncovering of new information brought to light some deeper truths about the Australian pastoral, the Stolen Generation and the burdens of womanhood in our near-past.

She also discusses hydrolic fracking in the Beetaloo Basin and its detrimental environmental impact.

Ankami: Stolen Children, Shattered Families, Silenced Histories is available now at all good bookshops.
