Feel The Floor: WVCHWY Spinning Stories on the Decks and Their Debut EP 'makings of me'
WVCHWY is a local Kalkadungu + Bidjara Producer/DJ and Artist who twists techno, trance, and house into sweaty, thumping soundscapes. Rooted in story and powered by heavy rhythms, their sound breaks away from traditional structures, chasing something deeper, heavier, and more alive. Their high-impact sets often feature the Didjeribone (a slide Didgeridoo), bringing live breath and ancestral tones into the club with a powerful, futuristic energy.
Joining Ethan for the debut episode of How High The Floor, WVCHWY hops on the decks to deliver a guest mix teeming with nostalgic acid and 90s hard house, specialties of the artist. We also discuss their debut EP, makings of me, which unfolds as a deeply personal and cultural narrative that reflects WVCHWY’s ongoing journey of resilience, resistance and reclamation as an Indigenous artist. Each track title marks a chapter in this story, mapping identity, exploration and the seamless blend of tradition with modernity.
