Presents Queer View Mirror
A queer and trans talk show.
How and when did you first connect with Triple R?
Breakfasters has been my radio alarm staple since I moved to Melbourne for university in 2012.
What does Triple R mean to you?
In a world dominated by divisive social media, I don’t take for granted the chance to connect with a thoughtful, open-minded community that embraces all forms of sexuality. Co-hosting Queer View Mirror has also deepened my love for and knowledge of hyper-local music and art.
What's your favourite Triple R story?
When Sam and Gemma invited me onto Queer View Mirror in 2022 to talk about my debut book, The Boy in the Dress! Sam and I ended up starting a queer writing group together, and later, Sam asked if I’d like to help co-host the show.
Describe your happy place.
Growing up, it was lying on the trampoline in my backyard, staring up through the branches. These days, as a writer in the big smoke, it’s the narrm ngarrgu Library surrounded by great coffee, food, and the thrum of the city.
The studio door has accidentally jammed shut with you stuck inside. If there was only one album in there with you, what would you want it to be, and why?
Ray of Light by Madonna. If my love for this album has stayed strong for 27 years, it’ll hold up just fine in studio purgatory. As a superfan of psychedelic West Coast rock, house, outer space vibes, and pop, William Orbit’s production paired with Madonna’s star power is unbeatable.
