May Live at RRR Announcement

It's hard to believe, but May is almost upon us – which means it's time for us to announce another Live at RRR lineup!

We have been so lucky to have such incredible acts perform at the station for the last two months, and May is certainly no different. We're thrilled that next month the following artists will join us in the Performance Space:

On Friday 9 May, Cool Sounds bring their shapeshifting indie rock to the Triple R Performance Space, hosted by Sam Cummins of Press Colour

Led by Melbourne-based Dainis Lacey, the band will preview songs from upcoming album Party Punisher, following their celebrated 2023 release Like That. The new songs draw on '80s pop, funk, and alt-country, with playful tales from recent international tours, and the true story of how they bought their congas.

Then, on Thursday 15 May, indie legends The Lemonheads (US) will perform at Triple R, hosted by Tristen Harris of The Golden Age of Piracy

Evan Dando and his band are returning to Australia to celebrate two of their most beloved albums, It's a Shame About Ray (1992) and Come On Feel the Lemonheads (1993). The set will feature classics that defined '90s alternative rock with their sharp hooks and heartfelt lyrics.

We'll be joined on Friday 23 May for an uplifting set from Immy Owusu, hosted by Sosefina Fuamoli of Window Seat

Growing up between the rock scene of Victoria's Surf Coast and his Ghanaian heritage, Owusu creates a unique fusion of sounds he calls Afro-psychedelic.

After studying under his grandfather, legendary musician Koo Nimo, he released his debut album in 2023 - featuring his father Kojo Noah Owusu, plus members of Karate Boogaloo and Surprise Chef. As he gets ready to release his new EP via Hopestreet Recordings, come experience the vibrant energy of Owusu's music in the Triple R Performance Space this month.

And to round out the month, Ela Stiles performs in the Triple R Performance Space on Friday 30 May, hosted by Annaliese Redlich of Neon Sunset

The acclaimed Melbourne artist will share songs from her recent Triple R Album of the Week Not A Stranger, alongside new material. There'll be everything from pulsating dance bangers to intimate folk ballads with orchestral touches. Catch this special set before Ela Stiles appears at RISING Festival's Day Tripper on Saturday 7 June at Melbourne Town Hall.
