We have been loving every moment of Live at RRR this year, with an incredible array of artists already dropping by the Triple R Performance Space. Luckily for us – we’ve got even more heat headed our way this June.

Kicking things off on Monday 5 June at 6pm, Nottingham post-punk duo Sleaford Mods stop by Triple R during their Australian tour, playing hits from their latest album UK GRIM. They’ll be performing a special Live at RRR during the last hour of Maps with Fee B-Squared.

On Thursday 8 June at 7pm, UK singer-songwriter Yazmin Lacey graces the Triple R Performance Space, ahead of her RISING show, bringing us her blend of soul, jazz funk and R&B. We’ve got the masterful Chris Gill from Get Down on hosting duties for this one! And if you can’t get down on Thursday, you can hear it on air on Friday 9 June at 7pm in the regular Live at RRR time slot.

Next, Nigerian-born, London-based Obongjayar joins us on Wednesday 14 June at 7pm, hosted by Samira Farah of The Score. Catch Obongjayar as he infuses rap, song and spoken-word into soft, smouldering clouds of afrobeat, soul and hip-hop. This performance will air on Friday 16 June in the Live at RRR slot.

Then on Friday 23 June at 7pm, Naarm/Melbourne-based duo Close Counters will bring their eclectic mix of electronic, hip-hop and soul to the station, celebrating their second album SOULACOASTA II. Hosted by none other than Ennio Styles from Stylin’.

To round out the month of June, local rockers Cable Ties come to Triple R on Friday 30 June at 7pm, hot off the release of their new record All Her Plans (out 23 June), and right before they set off on their Australian and UK & Europe tours. Hosted by Local &/Or General’s Jas Moore.

As always, the only way to attend any Live at RRR show is by being a subscriber! If you’re not a subscriber already, you can head on over to the Subscribe section of the website now to make that a reality.

Double passes are now up for grabs for Sleaford Mods, Yazmin Lacey and Obongjayar – Subscribers and First Nations people can head to Subscriber Giveaways to learn more about your chance to attend. Giveaways for Close Counters and Cable Ties will open later this month, stay tuned for more details.
