This Saturday 8 March, tune in to Triple R to hear some of our favourite female and non-binary broadcasters on the airwaves, in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025.

First up, Justine Costigan sprinkles some Vital Bits on your Breakfast from 6-9am. Featuring interviews with CEO Keryn Negri and Barbara Wheeler, Historian in Residence at The Queen Victoria Women’s Centre regarding their Feminist History Walking Tours and the work of the QVWC. Plus, Lauren Ellis from Bendigo Art Gallery will call in to discuss the new exhibition ‘Frida Kahlo: In Her Own Image’.

Then, from 9am-noon, local blues/roots legends Kerri Simpson & Alison Ferrier team up for a very special edition of Off The Record. They’ll be joined by local blues/rock/country muso Brooke Taylor plus Monique Di Mattina, performing songs from her upcoming musical Stella, based on the author who published books under the name Miles Franklin.

For the afternoon, we kick things off with Gomeroi astrophysicist Krystal De Napoli of Indigenuity, as she teams up with Darug archaeologist Maddi Miller for two hours of Indigenous excellence from 12-2pm. Then, Brooke Russell takes the reins for a Twangin’ good time from 2-4pm, before Samira Farah of The Score jumps on air from 4-6pm, to bring us a sublime selection of women in jazz.

Heading into the evening, Clem Bastow from Superfluity hits the airwaves from 6-8pm to get the party started, while Clara Slewa takes us on her regular sonic journey from 8-10pm on Velvet Haze.

And last, but most certainly not least, modern woman Celeste Mountjoy and her best friend (and fellow modern woman) Aurora Campbell will hit the airways from 10pm-midnight for a late night radio celebration for the ladies and admirers of ladies. Join them for a few hours of songs by ladies we love, and yarns about all things lady. The best thing about being a woman? Tune in to find out.
