VARVIE WORLD is the debut album from Sydney-based Sudanese-Australian rapper Vv Pete and producer UTILITY. The collaboration began five years prior, sparked when UTILITY discovered Vv Pete through a viral freestyle video from Mount Druitt’s Street University. Initially connecting through a shared love of drill music, the duo expands their sound on VARVIE WORLD. They explore global club styles such as gqom, baile funk, Jersey club, and dancehall, all rooted in the vibrant musical culture of Western Sydney.

Vv Pete’s delivery shifts between party-starting power and thoughtful introspection. Her reflections on cultural pride, empowerment, and community are charged by the energy of the production, bass-heavy and percussive. Carefully chosen samples bridge different eras and scenes. 'GO DUMB' reprises Rye Rye's Baltimore club classic 'Shake It To The Ground,' while 'Wicked (Woah)' flips a pitched fragment of Brick & Lace's 'Love is Wicked.' Collaborations with artists like Brodinski, DJ Plead, Cassius Select, and Kelman Duran further cement the album as a unique intersection between local identity and international dance music culture.
