Sculptor is typically a term used in visual arts, but it feels especially apt when describing the work of Luluc, Australian duo Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett. Their songs are timeless and textural, arrived at by process of addition and subtraction until all elements are in perfect harmony or balanced tension. Luluc's songs are musical monuments to shared humanity, giving form to fleeting feelings of desire, disconnection, loneliness, beauty, quiet rage and peace. Adding their own craft to the record are friends and collaborators Aaron Dessner, Jim White and J Mascis.
