Terra Ignota is the long-awaited return from Melbourne/Naarm jazz fusion/prog group Krakatau, out now on Elations Recordings. 

Drawing from a deep well of influences, Terra Ignota expertly fuses contemporary jazz with a diverse spectrum of sounds, ranging from fourth world ambient arrangements to latin fusion rhythms. 

Building on the foundation of the core members of the group, the album features significant contributions from saxophonist and former Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) head of Jazz and Improvisation, Rob Vincs, trumpet player Reuben Lewis, and percussion and wordless vocals from local Brazilian musician Alcides Neto. 

The result is an immersive and exploratory journey that rewards deep listening and cements Krakatau's place at the vanguard of Melbourne's fruitful instrumental scene.
