Like A Ribbon is John Glacier's debut album, building on the vision of her 2021 mixtape SHILOH: Lost For Words. The 14 tracks blend trip-hop, experimental electronica, and lo-fi hip-hop, all anchored by Glacier's cool, conversational delivery. It confirms her place within a lineage of innovative London artists - ranging from Tricky to Tirzah - who prioritise atmosphere and texture over strict genre lines.

Originally released as separate EPs, the album flows through distinct moods, from the watery guitar and introspective feel of opener 'Satellites' to the gritty post-punk energy of 'Money Shows' featuring Eartheater. 'Ocean Steppin'', a collaboration with Sampha, brings a touch of R&B warmth.

Glacier's lyrics resonate, hinting at vulnerabilities, fleeting anxieties, and moments of quiet triumph. She explores the tension between urban life and the serenity of nature, a duality mirrored in the production - fragmented melodies and beats with ambient undercurrents. For this album, Glacier and executive producer Kwes Darko, worked with contributions from Evilgiane and Flume. Together, they preserve a raw DIY spirit while expanding Glacier's experimental sound into new spaces.
