Now Would Be A Good Time is the debut from Melbourne/Naarm trio Folk Bitch Trio, formed by Heide Peverelle, Jeanie Pilkington and Gracie Sinclair. It honours the music the band grew up with - gnarled Americana, classic rock and plain‑spoken ballads.

Songs centre on three‑part harmonies with one or two guitars providing most accompaniment. ‘God’s a Different Sword’ sets the stage with layered voices over close acoustic picking. ‘Cathode Ray’ adds electric guitar with sharper dynamic shifts. In Sinclair's words it “expresses a feeling of being trapped in myself, and wanting to break out of that so violently…”

Lyrically, the album tracks everyday problems, grief, and isolation, but frames them as vivid, visceral stories rather than solemn folk songs. There are small shifts in perspective, and the smaller resentments of early‑twenties life, offset by a shared sense of humour. “We have three individual voices,” the band states, “but the story we tell is unified because our hearts are very melded.”
