Train On The Island is the fifth studio album from Aotearoa/New Zealand 's Aldous Harding, out now via 4AD/Remote Control/Flying Nun

The 10-track record was co-produced with long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning, Sparklehorse) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, returning to a winning formula that feels both familiar and beguiling in equal measure.

Train On The Island features finely tuned musical contributions from pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte; harpist Mali Llywelyn; synth artist Thomas Poli; drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear); and vocalist/bassist Huw Evans (H. Hawkline), helping create a textured atmosphere with Harding's singular songwriting at its centre.

The opaqueness that has come to define Harding's lyricism remains on Train On The Island, but is elucidated slightly through glimmers of more direct and personal songwriting, inviting you into her complex inner world.

The resulting album is an unorthodox and compelling take on the singer/songwriter format, orchestrated by a musician at the top of her game, 5 albums deep.
