‘Rest In Piss’ is the extraordinary third LP from Melbourne's punk rock champions Batpiss. Songs are dedicated to the memories of lost friends and loved ones, contrasting passages of furious intensity with more reflective moments. ‘Paralysed’ hypnotises with its relentless rhythms, while ‘My name is X’ and ‘Rui’s Lament’ are equally arresting with their slower tempos and damaged rock riffs. The screaming coda of ‘Bells for the Victorian Blues’ is brutal and brilliant, and the experimental drone dirge WW3 offers a moment of pensive calm in the heart of the record. 'Rest In Piss' is a caustic, cathartic and utterly compelling album.
