'Band of the Future' is the fourth record from Geelong's new wave and post punk apostles Ausmuteants. It's a subtly humourous title for a group less than interested in trend forecasting or placing their music on any broader timeline. There may be a few sonic references to past pioneering synth punks like Devo in the recordings, but Ausmuteants are resolutely writing their own history. 'Band Of The Future' is a thrilling new chapter filled with sharp keyboard melodies, energetic electric guitar lines and subtly subversive lyricism.
