A repeat performance from this “two-for-one” group, who last appeared at the Jazzlab in January 2025. This upcoming concert will see the four musicians performing in a variety of formats — from solo performances through to the full quartet.

The evening also marks a warm Melbourne welcome to pianist Dave McEvoy, who has recently relocated from Adelaide to make Melbourne his new home.

Wayfinders is a fully improvising trio, allowing each player’s musical experience to shape the music in real time. The Invisibles represents the flip side of the same project — a trio exploring American jazz and roots repertoire in the simplest form possible. In many ways, the same ideas are at work in both ensembles, and this Jazzlab set puts that concept to the test.
