Red Betty invites you to our festival of visual delights and audible treats – Dark FOMO. A creative tribute to winter nights you didn't know you needed.

Come and celebrate the winter solstice with us and some of our favourite musos and makers. We've invited two of our favourite bands to curate each night's entertainment and some of favourite artists to adorn our courtyard with art installations playing with light and movement for winter's darkest weekend.

So, if you're not heading to the deep south for the dark celebrations on the island turn your FOMO into JOMO* with Red Betty.

Saturday 22 June
USER, Cynthia and DJ Spankpants
USER bring their electro psychedelic noise brilliance back to Red Betty, overloading your senses with music and visuals. Top shelf support from Cynthia (new line up debut show) and DJ Spankpants on the dark and gloomy wheels of steel.

"USER will have special guest singer Deon S and guitarist Billy B. Both from The Black Heart Death Cult/The Bleeding Flares. We’re going for a dark, dark set for this one. Come take the mind bending trip."
– Andrew Nunns, USER

Art, light and moving image after dark all weekend

Outside
We’re honoured to have two amazing Melbourne artists showing their work in the Red Betty courtyard.

Jonathan Heath aka Jon Fun
The endlessly talented Jonathan Heath (aka Jon Fun) is one of our favourite makers of mischief, teller of tales and curator of craziness and a stalwart of the Hoi Polloi Burning Seed Community.

Jon Fun’s installations have been showcased at various events, most notably, Burning Seed, Rainbow Serpent and Maitreya. Jon has a very interesting brain from which some amazing art sculptures are created. He's a genius for making luminous and intriguing art.

For Dark FOMO Jon Fun will be installing his Colour Garden and Terrestrial Sea Lily seed pods. They will be on display in the Red Betty courtyard throughout festivities.

Chip Wardale
A Melbourne based artist with extensive catalogue of music, video and visual art. Skilled maker in metals with a keen eye for graphics. Lover of buildings and earth sciences. Born in Hull, England, educated in Sydney, NSW, home studio in Coburg, Victoria.
