Kick off your annual holiday season bender with a very special Sunday arvo session hosted by your
favourite incompetent astronauts! Useless Spaceman, Melbourne's premier space-punk pioneers, bring
their raucous blend of heartfelt, paranoid lyricism and positronic sci-fi antics to the Bergy Bandroom for a
rare headline appearance.
Joining them on this sunset soiree is an all-star crew of seasoned space cadets, consisting of noise rock
warriors Sweatshop, punk rock pioneers Villains, and psychedelic journeymen Beach Vultures.
Following a debut self-titled EP and a sizzling single, Useless Spaceman last year released their self-
recorded and self-produced debut album years in the making, 'The Marlboro Man Rides Again', a swirling galaxy of punk rock and sci-fi folk, filled with groovy psychedelic riffs and luscious vocal harmonies.
Experience odes to interstellar agribusiness and anti-corporate love songs, deadly alligators and deadlier
nanobots, and space cowboys and femme fatales of the distant future, as the band perform top cuts from
the album, alongside old crowd favourites, and a few sneaky unreleased previews.
Sauntering onto the stage are enigmatic post-punk powerhouse Sweatshop, bringing unparalleled levels
of noise and energy, in equal measures. Reminiscent of old-school Nick Cave and The Jesus Lizard,
expect the unexpected, with howling vocals, jagged guitars, and thundering drums.
VILLAINS, a punk rock trio hailing from Naarm, delivers a high-energy sonic assault complemented by
profound personal lyrics and intense, biting perspectives. Featuring relentless beats and enduring riffs,
they are a must-see live band.
Beach Vultures are a dynamic duo serving up raw and unfiltered slices of lo-fi garage rock and fuzzy
jams. Hot off the back of their recent debut DIY single 'Good Things', a quick but punchy psychedelic
experience, you'll be treated to a face full of distortion and battering beats.
