Back in the 1980s, there was a record shop in the Moonee Ponds market, where Julio Iglesias albums solidly outsold the likes of Springsteen, Madonna and Dire Straits. A part time job at this locally loved store fuelled DJ Trishyt’s passion for vinyl. While the 80s heavily influences the music she plays, she will grab great tracks from other decades, as long as the end result is music to move to, sing to, be nostalgic about or get interested in because it’s new. Ted Lasso brought us the line ‘Football is Life' but ‘Music is Life’ is closer to the truth. Or as Bowie would say, ‘Let’s Dance’…..when we’re allowed to.
