After more than two decades of being the backbone of many Melbourne jazz ensembles, double bassist Tom Lee has recently put together a first-class group of musicians to perform a selection of his own compositions for the first time.

Supported by the lush sounds of Hugh Stuckey and Fran Swinn on guitars and the highly versatile James McLean on drums, the group will perform new pieces inspired by landscapes, love, friendship and conflict. Tom has established himself as a much sought-after bassist on the Melbourne music scene, well known for his collaborative style and sensitive accompaniment. A long-time MJC performer with numerous ensembles, this concert will be a debut for Tom as band leader. Many years in the making, this new band will deliver an exciting and engaging evening of fresh sounds.
