Toby Barrett is a saxophonist and composer highly regarded within the New Zealand jazz scene. After receiving several national awards at a young age, he completed a Bachelor of Music at the University and a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the University of Melbourne.

Toby has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Melissa Aldana, Danilo Pérez, Jonathan Crayford, Roger Manins, Kevin Field and more. Now based in Melbourne, he performs regularly across the city and has recently recorded his debut album under the mentorship of Julien Wilson, Andrea Keller and Brett Williams.

Catharsis is a collection of original compositions inspired by the music of Ben Wendel, Joe Lovano, Remy Le Boeuf and numerous ECM recording artists.
