Thundabox, formed in Sydney on a dare 22 years ago, then relocating to Melbourne in '06, they have recorded 4 LP's and 2 EP's, + regularly broken bar sales in almost every venue they've played, doubled the highest ever request-hour (with their irreverent song "me mates are cunts") on JJJ and froze their network, played with some astounding bands, met some wonderful people, and had a lot of fun
On the night, founding member Shelfie will be rejoining ThundaBox (Michael Muc, Pete and Scott Bennett) for a few songs to celebrate 22 years of music together, and also for Pete's 56th birthday. '80 pub punk mixed with dirty rock n roll, TB were originators of the term "Aussie Beer Punk".
Before TB, local troubadours, The Delvenes, will take the stage. The Delvenes are a magical ride of guitar pop/Americana, with soaring guitars, sweet hooks, and captivating harmonies. With years of releases, and much deserved radio play, TB are honoured that these great friends can retake the Creatures Of Habit stage again with us (though Pip had covid last time and couldn't make it)
1st up on the night are The Saul Goodmans. Primarily it's the love child of twin brothers, Zach and Solly, who have been like family to TB from the start. They're a little bit country, and a lot of rock 'n roll.
Entry is free, but buy a few beers, so the band's can get at least a few $ for their troubles.
There'll also be a raffle of ThundaBox cd's, t-shirts, and possibly some extra special prizes.
ps. this is a dog friendly, LGBTQ friendly, awesome place, where respect is shown and given.
