This Beat Is Yours, a night of tunes spanning the globe, from Afro Beats and Middle Eastern Grooves to Afro House. Host of PBS 106.7FM’s Eternal Rhythm, Shio Otani will be bringing her eclectic range of records to kick off the evening and get everyone on the dance floor. Dean Zepherin will showcase his trademark electronic sound he developed after touring the globe extensively as a DJ, searching unexpected places (think Jeddah, Gambia and Egypt) for global sounds and voices to fuse together, inevitably starting his own label Tribe records. Finally, MzRizk, host of Boogie Beat Suite on PBS 106.7FM and lover of all things percussion and bass, will bring her collection of Arabic and Afro House, as well as some live drums to accompany this global journey on 9 November.
