Due to popular demand, The Wilbury Legends return once again for their only Melbourne show for this tour. Formed in Melbourne, The Legends ‘All-Star’ trio include Lindsay Field (John Farnham Band), Sam See (Flying Circus, Sherbet) and Glyn Mason (Ariel, Chain) and backed by a team of top notch Musos; Angus Burchall on drums, Paul Cartwright on bass and John Grant on keyboards. Together they will be celebrating the iconic music of the Travelling Wilburys.
That superstar band instigated by George Harrison and Jeff Lynne and joined by Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison, left their deep mark on pop music history. The collaboration of those veteran songwriters and singers began almost by accident when Harrison’s work on a song in California evolved unexpectedly into a gathering of his stellar musical friends. The chemistry was instant and resulted in the production of such joyful songs as ‘Handle with Care’ and ‘End of the Line’. These veterans breathed new life into rock music and though they never played live their debut album won the 1990 Grammy for Best Rock Performance.
In addition to highlighting The Travelling Wilburys hits, this show will also include best-loved songs of the individual artists, like ‘Something, ‘The Times Are A-Changing’, ‘Pretty Woman’, ‘Evil Woman’ and ‘Free Falling’.
