Coming to The Ruby Carter Jazz Lounge, The Velvetones have been making a name all over Australia for their beautiful singing and harmonies, humour and sense of good fun. Come and celebrate with this uniquely memorable act as they launch their debut album.

Vibrant, versatile, vivacious: just a handful of words to describe this fab four. Inspired by legendary vocal ensembles such as Manhattan Transfer, The Andrews Sisters and The Chordettes, these velvet-voiced virtuosos perform everything from heart-stirring jazz ballads to cheeky

Broadway ditties to hypnotise and delight. This sassy women’s quartet has been making a name all over Australia for the unique combination of their beautiful singing and harmonies, with a sense of good fun and humour to make them a uniquely memorable act.

The Velvetones launched on to the Australian music scene in 2018 and have very quickly established themselves as one of the country’s leading a cappella ensembles, receiving glowing reviews at the Melbourne International Singers Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and Hobart Festival of Voices, and consistently selling out all their shows.

An intimate and up-close performance with ……. Debra Byrne speaks for itself. It is an unforgettable opportunity to experience one of our great balladeers with some of Melbourne’s finest musicians, performing a selection of songs that have beauty and soul.

Debra had always wanted to sing the songs of JD Souther, James Taylor, John Hiatt and many more singer songwriters. So when Gary Van Egmond an Australian promoter who was touring The Highwaymen asked whether she would be the support act for The Highwaymen, Debra jump at the opportunity.
