The Tonalists are a 3 piece outfit from Melbourne, playing a soul blues inspired repertoire, inventively morphed to fit their line up of Hammond organ, pianos, guitar, lap steel, vocals and drums.

Featuring Mick Coll on Hammond and pianos, Jason Kain on guitar and lap steel, Nigel Wright on drums and percussion, their sound is retro but with a modern twist, often 'sampling' the originals and looping over the patterns, overlaying 'tone on tone'.

The band tore onto the Australian music scene in the early 90’s developing a compelling and truly unique sound.
