A clangorous mood sets in from the boom-crash-twang-thrash-squeal-squeak of this quite frankly weird and serendipitous union. Teddy undermining his sweetest touches, Chris unravelling his most complex restraint and Jeremy steering the perilous voyage in to the deep, chasing, down, towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee…

It’s like they always wanted it to be that way. something about it feels like the logical conclusion of a long list of former artistic pursuits, you know, finally culminating into this latest, shameless incarnation. I sort of expected them to, like, do this. It feels kinda cathartic, the way they touch on things that feel oddly vulnerable or close to home. exorcising demons or some s***. - Fab, Hugh and Mason sing songs about, amongst other things, love and ABIs.

Favoured State are retuning to The Gem on Saturday 12th July with their latest track “I’ll Finish It” off their next upcoming release. Bringing along the rowdy crew of De Porsal and the slick post punk rockers Frons, FS are pumping out the new tracks and it’s in the live format where these tracks really have an edge. You don’t want to miss this one!

“I’ll Finish It” is a deliberate resistance in an age obsessed with speed, multitasking, and ruthless efficiency. FS’s latest track is about rejecting hustle culture and finishing one thing at a time. “I’ll Finish It” repeats itself on purpose — copying the first verse into the second as a wry protest against perfectionism and speed. A sharp, deadpan mantra for doing less, better.
