Forming as bored teenagers in the small coastal town of Apollo Bay, now with an impressive 9 years of gigging under their belt, The Refuge has the electric stage presence to prove it. 

While The Refuge are primarily an Alt Rock band, looking to influences such as Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood and DZ Deathrays, they continue to merge different sounds and genres to create their own style, combining rock with their love for elements of psychedelic, punk, nu-wave, heavy metal and experimental music, inspired by a multitude of new and old acts. Live performances show that The Refuge are constantly pushing themselves as musicians while remaining in a machine-like synchronisation.

The bands released their 4 track E.P, Far Far From Perfect in April 2022 which delivers on topics of mental health and issue with identity. Earlier singles, Follow me and Long Time both charted on the Triple J Unearthed rock charts, with Follow Me sitting at number 1 on the rock chart for two weeks. 

Their newest single, Linchpin, will be released on the 27th of July. The song hits like a truck in the best way possible and showcases each members ability through the glistening guitar harmonies, unrelenting bass, soaring vocals and brutal drumming that come together as the bands heaviest most brutal work yet.
