The Hornets are steeped in the blues, they rise out of the Yarra Valley delta meeting at the mythical crossroads where Chicago grit has blown in. This is an earthy blues band with a pedigree of outstanding musicians…. The Age

Exciting things have happened to The Hornets lately. Not only did they celebrate their Silver anniversary in 2022, they have also been signed by Laneway Music who will publish, not only their new material - look out for their new EP early in 2023, but also their back catalogue - all eight albums.

For those new to The Hornets, they have been a mainstay of Melbourne and Australia’s blues and roots scene for two and a half decades and feature some of the country’s best known and respected blues and roots musicians including  singer/songwriter, guitarist and author Craig Horne, ARIA Hall of Famer guitarist Jeff Burstin (Jo Jo Zep, Black Sorrows) and  ARIA Award winning keyboardist Bruce Haymes (Archie Roach, Paul Kelly).

The Age named The Hornets “The best blues band in Melbourne”, and the Herald Sun said the band “demanded attention”.
