The Distant South are excited to announce their return to the Fabulous Coburg RSL for the first time in 2023. As they build towards their full length debut album launch later in the year, the band are primed and in fine form to hit the larger-than-life stage of the Coburg RSL. Following up on their 2020 4 track EP, The Distant South have continued to evolve their sound and songwriting, taking influences from Southern Appalachian, alternative country, blues and roots music - to produce a beautiful collection of songs. Recorded by Myles Mumford at Rolling Stock and mastered by Adam Dempsey at Deluxe, the record was made during a time of personal turmoil and grief for the band, which only seems to have enhanced beautiful harmonies, catchy melodies, toe tapping beats - and words written from the heart. “The Distant South” is available on 180g Vinyl and can by pre-ordered now, or purchased at the launch.
