When Joseph Bolitho Johns was rotting away in the hull of a dingy ship en route to Fremantle’s convict establishment in early 1853, the idea that a local trio of bozos would dedicate two and half minutes of ACDC worship to his name probably never crossed his mind. In fact, Johns passed away a long time before ACDC ever played their first note (73 years and 3 months to be roughly exact); even longer before Dennis Cometti laid down Bloke On The Run to tape in a shed in WA’s south west in the summer of 2021.

Moondyne Joe may be an obscure character outside of Western Australia, but Dennis Cometti believe that our state’s greatest escape artist deserves a proper look in. Ned Kelly? Never heard of him.
