The Colvin Brothers are Colin Weight (Guitar, Vocals) and Vinny Russell (Mandolin, Vocals), two Victorian pickers who came together through a mutual love of bluegrass, as well as country and old-time influences. For a long time they have been active the Victorian folk and bluegrass circuit, through their respective bands Nine Mile Creek and The Knott Family Band. Their performances as a duo draw from a broad span of original and traditional material, played with melodic picking, sung close harmonies and a joyful energy.

Banbury Cross -Cath Denise Hugh & Pete- are cantering into The Wesley Anne to launch their new EP, and supporting them, acapella siblings the Messenger Sisters (Julia Gen & Tash)!

Banbury Cross has drawn together Cath Russell (indi folk from the prolific Fitzroy scene of the 90's/2000s), Hugh McGinlay (the Recessive Genes), Peter de Ryk (Aus Cotton Club Swing Orchestra, 3MBS presenter) and introduces Denise McKay who began singing with us on a picket line in the Dandenongs and was so amazing she's sung with us ever since. Banbury Cross's creative melodic folk combines playful and serious in crafted original tunes

Banbury Cross are excited to have as support, the Messenger Sisters reuniting for a rare appearance at the Wesley Anne. This is a unique opportunity to hear the sisters in years, and promises the 3 part harmonies and onstage sibling banter they’re known and loved for.
