To celebrate the success of the TV show The Mandalorian, the Not-So-Big Band has put together a whole new concert featuring the music from the Star Wars universe. If you haven't been to a NSBB show before, the band takes classic themes that you all know and love and transforms them into new arrangements better suited for an intimate jazz club setting. But don't worry, we will make sure to keep the Cantina song in its original form.

The NSBB was formed in 2018 as a mid-sized ensemble that brought together some of Melbourne's finest up-and-coming music students alongside seasoned professionals. Instead of playing repertoire from the last 100 years of jazz history, the band takes well known songs and arranges them in new and fantastic ways, tapping into the tradition of how the greats such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane transformed classics such as Summertime and My Favourite Things. Since forming, the ensemble has become part of the Jazz Melbourne youth program and every year a new batch of students is awarded a place in the band for demonstrating musical excellency in their audition. This years band includes:

Trumpet - Thien Pham
Trombone - Max Budgen
Tenor Sax - Oscar Bruten
Piano - Miro Lauritz
Bass - Toshi Clinch
Drums - Ollie Shute
