SWEET TALK BIO

"When you know, you know. You know? One rehearsal in and the members of Sweet Talk thought, “yeah fuck it I’m in”.

The 6-piece band from Melbourne originally bonded over a love of late nights, American music, classic song writing and improvised jams. Add to that a penchant for good times and a talent for terrible banter and you’ve got all the right ingredients for some groovy home brew. As discerning disciples of some of history’s all-time southern, blues, country, gospel, soul and rock bands; band leaders and guitar weavers Soren Walker and D.M.Turner have paid their dues, chasing the music they fell in love with at an early age. They are joined by fellow devotees Tane Walker (Vox), Craig Mattingley (Keys), James Vincent Harding (Bass) & Nic Symonds (Drums), all lifelong fans of real music played by real people. Already renowned for their high-energy live shows -readily whipping unsuspecting punters into frenzied states of boogie and unabashed song at the drop of a hat - the band recently doubled down on their ethos to record their first release completely live to tape. All in the same room. Let it bleed. A recent quip from an upcoming documentary on the band by guitarist Soren Walker might best sum up their approach –“Sometimes when you’re not hearing it, you’ve gotta do it yourself”. Sweet Talk seem to have done exactly that, stitching together a rich tapestry of vintage influence into something altogether their own. It’s definitely time to let the good times roll!
