One of the Northern Territory’s most notable young songwriters, Stevie Jean’s music has captured the minds and hearts of many around Australia. After locking down in Darwin and honing her skills as a writer, instrumentalist and producer, Stevie Jean has relocated to Melbourne. With an album launch and a string of shows under her belt she is taking her new home-town by storm.
To listen to Stevie’s music, her influences are diverse as they are genre spanning. From The Doors to Lana Del Rey and The Black Keys, Stevie Jean has developed a musical palette that comes born out of a love for strong songwriting and individualism.
At just 21 years old, she has supported the likes of Tash Sultana, The Rubens and Ocean Alley, embraced success on national tours with Montaigne and Caiti Baker, all the while charting new successes on record with the release of her debut EP Blame Game, her debut album The Dark and with Tasman Keith on their collaborative EP project, Evenings. In May of 2021 she released her debut album, The Dark. It’s lead single, Menace, was playlisted on MTV, received rotation on Triple J and was featured in music blogs and magazines including NME and The Guardian. She also received artist spotlights from Triple J Unearthed and AIR News.
A fiery industry favourite, Stevie’s captivating presence as a performer has earned her acclaim on festival stages from The Hills Are Alive to Party In The Paddock and BIGSOUND, not to mention taking home NT Best Live Voice at the National Live Music Awards in 2017 and 2018.
