It's on again, folks. Steel Guitar Australia presents its annual Steel Guitar Convention in a new location: the famous Brunswick Ballroom.

With a long history of showcasing everything about steel guitar, they bring together some of the finest talents in Pedal Steel Guitar, Lap Steel Guitar, and Dobro for a five-hour feast of all things steel.

Some of the players you'll see on the day are the Master Mr Ed Bates, the Sultan of Strings Pete Fiddler, Instrumental King Bruce Green, the Baker Boys father and son players Ken and Phil Baker from Albury, who wowed them at the Brisbane steel show a few years back. Dobro players Kier Stevens and John Mazur, along with Lap Steel players Rick Dempsy, Alex Burns and Terry Dean. The list goes on: Gerard Rowan, Tim Fry, Rob Broatch, Garrett Costigan, Rodger Delfos, and Dave Moore, all with their styles in a broad range of music genres, all sliding on those strings of steel.

Cats and the Canary bring a truly unique experience to the Australian music scene, standing out as the first and only band to introduce Greek Swing.

Their performances are a heartfelt tribute to Greece’s most prolific composers, where cherished melodies of the past undergo a captivating transformation. With a blend of Tsitsanis, Chiotis, Hadjidakis, and the occasional tsifteteli or traditional smyrneika, they seamlessly fuse these treasures with the lively essence of swing, jazz, and even latin rhythms.

In their first performance at Brunswick Ballroom, they will perform a setlist full of Greek Film Classics, Greek Swing, and Greek Disco, with a seven-piece lineup and surprise guests.

They have performed in various festivals (Brunswick Music Festival, Antipodes Festival, Greek Festival of Sydney etc), and have also sold out several headline gigs in Melbourne.

Put on your dancing shoes and see you on the 18 of May for a night to be remembered!
