In 2024 and 2025, Spirograph Studies had long-running residency at Jazzlab, working on material for new projects. So, it only seems right that this is where they are launching their new album, Melody Driver.

Spirograph Studies have cultivated a unique sound – described as “post-rock, post- jazz”, they sculpt live soundtracks under the musical leadership of Tamara Murphy. After a 4-year wait between albums, they are excited to release Melody Driver, which pushes their hypnotic, textural approach to improvisation into new directions, textures and dreamscapes.

Their last album, Lowlights, was featured on The Best Jazz on Bandcamp list (October 2021), Album of the Week on ABC Jazz and the single Anteloper was one of the Top Tracks on Feature Sounds (PBS Radio). Melody Driver comes out on October 3rd through Bandcamp (available for pre-order) and selected ethical streaming services (if there is such a thing).
