SOTV 'You Know Your Heart When You Break It' SINGLE LAUNCH

A$16.46

SOTV return with new single, 'You Know Your Heart When You Break It' and a headline show at the Catfish, Fitzroy on Saturday, March 29th.

SOTV are a rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The band consists of singer Conor Bermingham, Guitarist Ben Rohy, Bassist Michael Cowled and Drummer Jesse Porter.

With a strong focus on big choruses, soaring guitar melodies and hard hitting deliveries, it's clear that SOTV are a band that thrive in the live domain, a reputation they strive to have at the forefront of everything they do.

With this ethos at hand, SOTV's aim is to write explosive songs that translate into high-energy, larger-than-life live performances - something that has helped them cultivate a dedicated following.

SOTV have been fortunate to perform in iconic Australian venues in their travels such as 170 Russell, Corner Hotel, The Espy, Liberty Hall (Sydney) and The Zoo (Brisbane) - supporting acts such as Eskimo Joe, The Delta Riggs, British India and We The Kings (USA).

'YKYHWYBI' is their next offering, picking up where previous single 'Vertigo' left off; providing an uplifting release from the strain and unease that was built through Vertigo.

This is evident from the off with group chorus chanting 'Hold on, Fight it, Come back around', a sentiment of hope and perseverance in the face of doubt and uncertainty.

Taking listeners on a stadium rock-esque journey, the band's sonic landscape is anchored by guitarist Ben Rohy's ambient lead guitar lines, weaving through the song's lyrical themes of solace, allaying the fears and doubts of the pre-chorus, "when nothing seems to quite work out."

The relentless energy is carried through with drummer Jesse Porter's four to the floor groove creating the perfect footing for Michael Cowled's driving melodic bass lines, culminating in a call and response between the cutting delivery of vocalist Conor Bermingham and an instrumental cathartic release before returning back to the gang chorus - begging for a joint 'fist to the air' moment between punter and band at every future SOTV gig.
