Brunswick Ballroom presents Songs in the Round with Cate Taylor, Mandy Connell and Sarah Carroll. The 'in the round' format is increasingly popular for good reason, with big turnouts for sessions like Songs in the South, Delsinki's "Sing a Song of Sixpence", 'Keep the Circle Unbroken' and Les Thomas' 'Unpaved'. There is a joy and a curiosity in watching performers swap songs together, live on stage. In this way the audience gets a rare perspective into the reactions of each musician on stage to each other's songs, and an insight into how one song sparks another in the hearts of Melbourne songwriters.

From the winners of the Maldon Minstrel and Roddy Read songwriters awards comes this songwriters salon celebrating words, stories, and human experiences.

From Connell's deep roots in the Melbourne folk scene (An Otherwise Quiet Room) to Sarah Carroll who has performed at most of Australia’s high-profile festivals and a good many of its pubs over a 30-year career, and is noted for her work with GIT, The Pirates Of Beer, The Junes and The Cartridge Family, to Cate Taylor who has curated an exchange of songs which more than matches the well deserved boost her career has lately enjoyed.

**

It's been over a year since VulgarGrad last played in Melbourne, but what a crazy sad year it's been for a lot of people in the homelands of the music the band plays. In solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the face of Putin's invasion, and in celebration of Odessa - that great Black Sea city that VG owes so much to - please come together for this very special benefit concert.

We are so lucky to have with us, all the way from actual Odessa, folk group the Jolly's, who will be supporting.
