With two exciting and powerful feature’s poet ZAYNAB FARAH and musical guest RAT CHILD.

ZAYNAB FARAH is a Somali Naarm-based Spoken word artist. Her pieces explore intricate personal experiences and topics that she’s very passionate about. Zaynab is the 2019 Victorian Poetry Slam champion.

RAT CHILD  Born on Woiwurrung Country to the descendants of Irish convicts, Rat Child has been steadily investing in the practice of songwriting for over a decade. Her powerful soul vocals are combined with an authentic knack for earnest storytelling inspired by the traditions of blues, folk and jazz - and the timeless protest music embedded within them.   Themes of humility, forgiveness, self-reflection, community, compassion and - of course - love are littered throughout her writing and evident in her church-like performances which are the bedrock of both her live shows and her upcoming debut LP, 'My Morning & Afternoon's Work' - released independently this November 10 2022. ratchildmusic.bandcamp.com
