The first born child of a novelist and a documentary editor, “Skyscraper” Stan Woodhouse was raised with an innate appreciation for language. Originally classing himself as a country musician, Skyscraper Stans’ earlier influences included pre-war blues, the Laurel Canyon songwriters, Nick Cave and Sam Cooke. Since arriving in Australia in 2009 The Drones, Peep Tempel and Paul Kelly among others have been added to the list.

Just before COVID hit, Stan Moved to Ballarat and spent the lockdowns honing his craft with longtime collaborator and some say his favourite cousin Oskar Herbig and the new addition of Sam Boon (Sasquatch) who is bringing a saxyness to the scrapers new sound.

Together they have been electrifying venues big and small across Victoria and NSW with tunes new and old that cater to all dancefloor enthusiasts. .
