Taking inspiration from the sound of 1960s Jamaican ska and early rocksteady, the SKABHANGERS are gaining a reputation for their dynamic live shows. 2022 saw the band perform at the Jamaican Music & Food Festival and take home 2nd prize in PBS FM's February Performer Drive!

Their self-produced debut album, launched in January 2023, contains original compositions combining cheeky lyrics on modern life in Naarm/Melbourne, with burning instrumentals and improvised solos. The 6-piece band are returning to the front window of Bar Open for a two-set early evening Sunday show. Free entry!

The performers wish to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land this show takes place on, and pay respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also wish to acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
