Simon Vuarambon takes on the Howler Garden for an extended 3 hour set

Welcome to With The Grain, Melbourne’s progressive house event agency dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences. We are delighted to bring you Swiss native but Argentinian resident Simon Vuarambon in our very first instalment on Kings Birthday weekend. With releases across some of the progressive house heavyweight labels we cannot wait for his 3 hour extended set.

Our support lineup is not to shy away from either as we welcome Meanwhile Records label boss GMJ. fellow prog heavyweight Mike Rish who needs no introduction establishing himself across the world with labels such as Lost and Found and Anjunadeep. Dynamic duo Wolftrax who are just finding their feet and spreading themselves vastly across the globe with debut EPs on Future Avenue and AH Digital. Last but not least we have local legend Bridget who has cemented her place within the Melbourne dance scene with her enthusiasm for deep and chuggy grooves.

Surprise Melbourne club show for London’s bar italia (Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton) playing a RISING side show on their debut Australian tour.

From their beginnings on Dean Blunt’s World Music label to signing with Matador Records, bar italia have become a beacon of cathartic post-punk insouciance, broken-mirror storytelling & deadpan boy/ boy/girl vocals.

bar italia’s economical yet evocative song craft takes raucous & mystic turns; songs like ‘my little tony‘, with its in-the-red riff and excitable hooks, the cathartic four-on-the-floor of ‘world’s greatest emoter’ and the festival tent psychedelia of ‘Hi-fiver’ need little in the way of exposition – these are exhilarating rock songs, if wayward and strange.

“The best new band in London... jagged art rock, grey-scale dream-pop and ghostly vocals conjuring a sad and alluring world that feels just out of reach” - THE FACE
