Fresh off a sold-out album launch as part of the ABC, SHAYAN is returning to Bar 303 with a new project and new compositions which we will stretch and bend and mould into something exciting and unexpected.

SHAYAN is a forward thinking, ever changing jazz ensemble that incorporates elements ranging from Iranian folk music, contemporary classical music and hip-hop in their original compositions. in 2021 the group were recipients of the ABC Jazz Composer Commission for the creation of new music blending Iranian melody and rhythm with Jazz harmony and improvisation.

For this residency, SHAYAN will be playing brand new compositions as a quartet with Stella Anning on Guitar, Harry Birch on Double Bass, Omid Shayan on Saxophone and Babs Brady on Drums.
