Fresh off a debut EP, an interstate tour and a single featuring ARIA nominee Gretta Ray, the indie rock poetry of Seb Szabo is set to take 2022 by storm.
Since beginning his solo career supporting San Cisco at university in 2019, the San Francisco-born and Melbourne-raised 26-year-old has become a mainstay of Victoria’s hardworking music scene.

Think Coldplay’s Chris Martin with a splash of Gang of Youths’ Dave Le’Aupepe, Seb’s songwriting bursts with life and energy, blending honest indie rock with an intimate, magnetic stage presence to paint soaring, colourful portraits of life and love.
His debut EP, the autobiographical and cinematic voyage "Staring Out the Windows", was released in July 2021 -  selling out the Gasometer Hotel Bandroom along the way - with the record described by Forte Mag as "the stuff of lighters-in-the-air magic”.

"Twice Over", the final single for the "Windows" era featuring vocals from pop powerhouse Gretta Ray, was added to Triple J Unearthed rotation in November 2021.

Sydney Miller and Orange Orange are joining forces to host a residency at The Gasometer Hotel for the month of June.

A bit about the both of them:

“23 year old Sydney Miller from Melbourne is paving the way for a new and vibrant sound in her solo, self-titled act. Whilst comparable to alt- and electro- pop genres, Sydney’s production style has earned early praise for its accomodation to a diverse range of musical tastes - complemented by powerful vocals and contemplative lyrics and melodies to intertwine.”

"Orange Orange has been a vessel for powerful, boundless songwriting and musicianship, created and headed by young independent artist Ryan Basile. Music that began as a creative exploration of production quickly became a pursuit into the future of indie-pop, with Ryan borrowing elements of electronica, folk, punk and rock to innovate with tightly-knit, memorable music."

As well as their individual endeavours, Sydney and Orange have recently established a strong collaborative relationship, intertwining their projects. This joint residency will be celebrating Sydney’s recent EP release and Orange Orange’s upcoming album release, as well as the recent release of Orange’s single ‘Granny Lands’ featuring Sydney and Orange’s remix of Sydney’s ‘Bad News’ - preempting more exciting projects to come.

Each of the 4 evenings will be wildly different, showcasing different supports, and versatile sets from Sydney and Orange:

1st June - supported by Stella Bridie

8th June - supported by holly heb

15th June - Jock Pryse Jones and second support tba, for a stripped-back, intimate, seat and dine event.

22nd - supported by old friends theo and VACATETHEROOM, headlined by a hybrid Orange Orange x Sydney Miller band.

This residency will be supplemented by several regional VIC shows throughout the month, showcasing Orange Orange and Sydney Miller.
