With a commanding voice and a charming onstage presence, California-born Seb Szabo is full of joy, humour and honesty as he reimagines his own luckless anecdotes into Springsteen-inspired rock.

Detailing autobiographical stories of love with an abundance of heart, Seb’s songs put the “hope” in hopeless romantic. His appetite for connection, a childhood spent travelling, and dreams of following in Coldplay’s idolic footsteps has led to a colourful, uplifting brand of indie rock blossoming before our eyes. Seb’s release of debut EP “Staring Out the Windows” in 2021 has accumulated 100,000+ streams, while gaining Triple J Unearthed's acclaim and featuring a duet with Gretta Ray on single “Twice Over.” A fervent live performer, Seb has supported artists such as San Cisco, Steph Strings, Dylan J and Cap Carter on some of Victoria’s biggest stages (The Corner Hotel, Fed Square, Queenscliff Music Festival) while also having toured the USA/UK. 

 Having won Sofar’s 2023 Artist Residency Program, Seb is fresh from a stint living in London in November 2023 alongside Alaska’s Medium Build and has returned bright-eyed and inspired with a suitcase full of new songs. Seb has additionally come off a series of sold out secret backyard shows in Melbourne showcasing his newest stories. Seb & his enigmatic band promise to bring the same warmth, energy & hilarity to the Bergy Bandroom in celebration of brand-new single “Perfect Symmetry”.
