Roz Girvan is a Melbourne-based songwriter with a long-standing presence in the city’s roots music scene. She performs both as an Americana duo with her partner, fiddle and mandolin player Greg Field, and with her guitarist, mandolin playing son Roy Girvan.

Valentine’s Day gets a little wilder this year as Wanita, Australia’s self‑crowned Queen of Honky Tonk, rides into the Brunswick Artists’ Bar with the glorious chaos and heart-on-sleeve twang that’s made her a bona fide cult hero.  She’s joined by cosmic wanderer ARCHER, the old-time singsong man whose dust‑road baritone and rambling, romantic tales feel beamed in from another era entirely.[wanitahonkytonk +4]

Expect two beautiful loose cannons trading songs and stories: love gone wrong, love gone right, and love that probably shouldn’t have happened in the first place – all soundtracked by pedal‑steel dreams, barroom ballads and slow-dance heartstoppers.  In the intimate glow of the Brunswick Artists’ Bar – part country pub, part stylish Melbourne hideaway – this is Valentine’s for the lovers, loners and late‑night poets who like their romance a little rough around the edges and absolutely unforgettable.
