Roo Davies is a singer songwriter from lutruwita living in naarm/Melbourne. A keen student of folk songs and stories and blues and country. Roo writes about people, and how he gets confused occasionally by the world outside of songs.
In Nipaluna/Hobart, he played various instruments in a number of bands, but was all the time squirrelling away notebooks of lyrics and musing about television, a pet rat and strange occurrences like being alive. These would come to be accompanied by guitar chords more often than not and would at times bring joy and feel good to sing. July 2023, Roo’s recording his debut album in a southern region of lutruwita in a recording studio (renovated apple shed) which floats on the Huon River.
Crikey! It's an absolute pleasure to introduce you to Damn Williams, the solo project of Elliot Taylor (Pretty in Pink, Tiger Choir). Hailing all the way from the wild lands of Hobart, Tasmania, Elliot now resides and rocks in Melbourne, Victoria.
Damn Williams brings forth a whirlwind of guitar-driven Australiana rock. Raw, noisy melodies accompanied by deep vocals that speak to the very soul. The lyrics? They're as thoughtful as a kangaroo pondering its next hop. Each performance becomes a wild journey, filled with untamed passion and an immersive experience that'll leave you captivated.
