Ron S Peno & the Superstitions 8pm

ends 9.30pm

After a sellout album launch back in May, Ron S. Peno & The Superstitions return to the Brunswick Ballroom when they play on Saturday November 26th! Special guests on the night will be Stu Thomas Sings Lee Hazelwood.

Ron S. Peno & The Superstitions are fronted by one of Australia’s greatest and most charismatic performers, Ron S. Peno, whose voice is as instantly recognisable as it is arresting. Ron came to prominence as lead singer and principal co-composer with Died Pretty in the 1980s and 1990s. With Died Pretty, he achieved Top 30 success with multiple albums, received numerous ARIA nominations, made many Big Day Out appearances and enjoyed years of Triple J support, as well as great national and international critical acclaim.

Ron and The Superstitions' first and third albums, 'Future Universe' (2011) and 'Guiding Light' (2017), were both long listed for the Australian Music Prize, and they have toured through Spain, Italy and France.

Their latest and fourth album, ‘Do The Understanding', from 2021, is a triumphant return for Ron and the band and the most sophisticated Superstitions album to date. Renowned for their grandly uplifting songcraft and ecstatic live performances, The Superstitions cast an intoxicating rock ‘n’ roll spell around their magnetic frontman.

Ron S. Peno and The Superstitions are a band who permanently exist at the height of rock artistry and, miraculously, are only getting better.

Rocket Science are four individuals who play trashy-psychedelic-garage-punk with new wave, no-wave art-punk enthusiasm. Since their first rehearsal in 1998, they have enjoyed playing together for nearly 25 years. It's been a weird and varied experience for all. Still, this original line-up is a spectacular experience to behold. Each member of Rocket Science is diverse and unique. It is as unlikely as profound that the band exists at all. Rocket Science finds inspiration through observation and sound. The band will play at the Brunswick Ballroom on November 26th after the legendary Ron Peno. Rocket Science agrees that playing after such an excellent performer is a privilege and honour.

(Please note there is a Ron S Peno & Superstitions show 5.30pm - 9.30pm, ticket holders for the Ron S Peno show are automatically granted free entry to see Rocket Science after 10pm, as they are already in the venue.)
