Robbie Melville is a guitarist and composer. His charismatic and sensitive playing has led to work with artists as diverse as the Australian Pops Orchestra, Stephen Magnusson, Carl Pannuzzo, Liz Frencham, Shane Howard and Nat Bartsch. His own ensembles, cleverhorse and Antelodic, have released multiple albums.

In 2016 he won the Orkeztra Glasso Bashalde Composition Competition, and in 2018 won first prize in the Instrumental Category of the International Songwriting Competition. In 2021 he was awarded the Johnny Dennis Music Prize.

His latest project, the Robbie Melville Trio features bassist Tamara Murphy and drummer Maddison Carter. It is an exploration of the meeting point between folk melody, jazz harmony and textural improvisation through a series of compositions that allow room for spontaneous interactions.
