The Grace Darling will play host to a night of melancholic, country-twinged brooding by Melbourne singer-songwriter Riley Catherall following the release of his 5 track release ‘Venture In Vain’ in late 2018. Joining Riley and his band will be the ever so moody and whimsical Eliza Joan and The Renegades, and Paul Dyason, the lyrically arresting lead singer of The Northern Folk. Come down for a boogie and a cry.

Claps are a firebrand of cosmic jazz energy, agitators of tradition and hotheaded jazz punks; an instrumental quintet that blends house, broken beat and drum and bass rhythms with unhinged jazz improvisation to create a dark and immersive kaleidoscopic dance music experience. With members from The Rookies, Honey and Z.F.E.X. and an uncompromising search for a distinct and immersive sound, Claps pushes listeners and dancers out of their comfort zone and into heightened states of bodily perception.

‘Faye’s Dugout’ is an ode to the weird and wonderful history of Coober Pedy and the dwellings of its residents. Opening with a moody and atmospheric soundscape evocative of the harsh, arid beauty of the Australian desert, giving way to a driving groove and weaving melody inspired by the surreal underground desert homes built to escape the heat.
